Why Multi-Vitamins?
The first reason is there is some evidence that EDTA takes the good minerals along with the bad heavy metals and calcium deposits. There seems to be some controversy about this subject among doctors and health professionals. However there is a study I read somewhere that states EDTA takes the heavy metals first because it has a higher attraction to heavy metal atoms. From a common sense aspect it does make sense. Since we as a society are so depleted in minerals anyway it is my recommendation to be safe than sorry. Dr. Julian Whitaker of the Wellness institute also recommends increased multi-vitamins when doing chelation. He has been a chelation doctor for many years with great success stories. Therefore take a good multi-vitamin with EDTA Chelation.

A report in the June 19, 2002 issue of The Journal of the American of the American Medical Association has recognized the link between vitamins and the reduced risk of chronic diseases, like cardiovascular disease, cancer, and osteoporosis.*To help address this vitamin deficiency problem, the report goes on to say, "We recommend multivitamins, rather than individual vitamins, because multivitamins are simpler to take... and because a large proportion of the population needs supplements of more that one vitamin."

Heart Disease risk plunged 72% in men and women who ate more than five fruit and vegetables per day, compared with those who ate less than one a day. Eating lots of fruits as a child cut the risk of cancer as an adult by almost 40 percent.

Ten out of 13 studies show that giving children multivitamin & minerals raises their non-verbal IQ scores as much as 30%, reports psychologist David Benton, of Britain's University of Wales Swansea. Benton estimates one-third to half of all children have mild unsuspected nutritional deficiencies that can be corrected by multivitamins.

Fewer infections. Taking multivitamins for a year boosted immune functioning and cut infections, such as the flu, 40% in diabetics and 50% in the elderly, compared with taking a placebo, according to tests at the University of North Carolina and at Memorial university of Newfoundland.

Less heart disease. In a new Swedish study, men who took multivitamins had a 20% lower risk of heart attacks, and women had a 35% lower risk than those not taking supplements.

Less cancer. Harvard studies show that taking multivitamins containing folic acid cut the risk of colon cancer by 50% in women with a family history of the disease.

"Research shows that diets containing five servings of fresh fruits and vegetables a day may help prevent 35 percent or more of all causes of cancer."*

Most Americans realize there are benefits from eating fresh fruits and vegetables every day, but only 20 percent are doing it. The challenge is finding enough fresh fruit and vegetables to enjoy. If you're like most Americans you probably spend more time at work than at home- which means you probably eat one or two meals out along with occasional snacks. You simply can't find fresh fruits and vegetables in vending machines and most eateries.

"Everything you've learned in school as "obvious" becomes less and less obvious as you begin to study the universe.   For example, there are no solids in the universe. There's not even a suggestion of a solid. There are no absolute continuums. There are no surfaces. There are no straight lines."  R. Buckminster Fuller
